Art Connect (18Y+) Single Classes


Follow your passions in our open studio class for adults with developmental disabilities. With our experienced art educator you will explore mediums like acrylic paint, watercolours, pastels, pencil crayons, charcoal and more. All supplies included.

Alberta Culture Days: The Culture We Carry


Celebrate Culture Days with a free night of art and learning. We'll start with a guided tour of an exhibition at Gallery@501 exploring family, culture and memory. Then, we'll head into the studio and create found poem collages responding to the art on display and our own lived experiences. All supplies included. This program is made possible through the partnership of Gallery@501 and the Strathcona County Library.

Basket Weaving (18Y+)


Join us and discover the ancient art of basket weaving! In this course, you'll learn the basic techniques of basketry by creating a beautiful basket made from rattan reed. There's nothing like the feeling of joy and pride that comes from creating something with your own two hands. All supplies included.

Create in a fun and relaxing environment this summer. Explore everything from painting to needle felting.

Métis Flower Beading Workshop with Connie Kulhavy


Celebrate Métis Week this November by learning about the traditional art of Métis beadwork. Join artist Connie Kulhavy as she shares traditional knowledge and teachings. She will walk you through the process of beading a flower, and provide you with the training to finish your piece at home. All supplies included.

Studio Sessions (18Y+)


Explore new art mediums, sharpen your skills and learn about art history over the course of a six-week series of evening classes.

The Art Lovers Book Club (18Y+)


Enjoy an afternoon talking about books and making art! Spend the first hour discussing a novel with the library staff, then head to the Gallery@501 Art Studio to create your own artwork inspired by what you've read. No experience necessary. All supplies included.

Art of Weaving (18Y+)


Join Strathcona County Weavers for the evening of exceptional and delightful creativity to experience weaving on a table loom. Registration for the course closes two weeks prior to the start date.
