MMIWG2S: Needle Felted Red Dress Brooches (9Y-99Y)

Join us at the Gallery@501 Art Studio for a meaningful workshop where we will create needle-felted Red Dress brooches in solidarity with National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls in Canada. Together, we will begin by reading an excerpt from ‘If I Go Missing’, a powerful graphic novel by 14-yearold Brianna Jonnie and Nahanni Shingoose with art by Nshannacappo, which explores the challenges faced by Indigenous youth today. This event offers a reflective, hands-on experience through the art of needle felting. All materials and refreshments will be provided. This program is presented by Gallery@501 and co-sponsored by Strathcona County Library.
