Shinny hockey (Recommended 15Y+)

Shinny is an informal, non-contact type of hockey played on ice. There are no formal rules or specific positions. All players in attendance agree to the shinny and facility guidelines.

Younger players will not be turned away, but will need to be able to take part in the appropriate level of play.

Full equipment is required, including hockey pants, support cup, hockey gloves, shin/elbow/shoulder pads, ice hockey stick and CSA-approved hockey helmet. Full face mask and neck guard are recommended.

Registration guidelines

  • 2-hour time slots are capped at 20 players and 4 goalies
  • Time slots over 2 hours are capped at 24 players and 4 goalies
  • Goalies do not need to pre-register
  • If goalies are not in attendance, shooter-tutors are available
Registration opens on the day prior to the activity at 7 a.m. Admission payment required upon booking. Cancel your activity timeslot before it begins by calling the facility.
